moving to delft (june 2024)
We have moved to a beautiful new location in Delft. In this location we have much more space, which means that we have been able to make our 3D scanner even bigger. There is also more space to visit with a group and we have created a nice corner with examples of our 3D sculptures and color samples for the showcases.
Duplify in Pure Luxe Magazine (June 2024)
Floris Wyers helped us to get featured in his beautiful magazine. We were invited to the launch party of this new edition of Pure Luxe magazine in Amsterdam.
Our product is something you really have to experience in real life, so we brought some samples to present to the party guests. We really enjoyed coming by and meeting the people who worked on it!
A look into the future (January 2024)
We have made great developments in the past year and are enthusiastic about the projects where we are doing this to work on for years. We are currently mainly focusing on on family portraits and business figurines in display cases.
Another idea is to create a 3D item for a company make with the employees. For example, think of a bed or barbecue, or something completely absurd like a tompouce. Something that really suits the company we use it for to make.

Launch of our new product (November 2023)
The last few months have been all about… the launch of our new product. We have chosen to focus on this new product and stop using individual figurines to offer our customers something that was not possible before.
We have taken our product to the next level by making products of better quality, and delivering a complete product including a personalized pedestal, lighting and a back the scenes video.
This allows us to deliver a product of museum-quality quality.
Here comes the bride... (October 2023)
We were able to carry out a beautiful project for a bridal couple, a statue for their wedding cake
They were not allowed to see each other beforehand. They are together first scanned in their normal clothes. We have that scan only use their hands. Then we have them separately scanned, she was standing in her wedding dress and he was in his suit.
Finally, we used the hands from the first scan and merged with the scan of them in bridal clothes. Then it When the statue was finished, we immediately sent it to the baker, and he put it on the cake. The bridal couple only saw the statue at the wedding itself, when they were cutting the cake.
September 2023
To make our images of even better quality, we looked for an external print supplier.
So we have put a stop to producing ourselves figurines. This allowed us to focus on it ourselves scanning customers and the further development of our company.
August 2023
In honor of the 50th anniversary of LEDO , Barry and Emiel presented a 3D statuette to their former director and founder Leo van den Dobbelsteen.
Leo was invited to our 3D studio without knowing what was happening was going to happen. To make sure he didn’t notice anything, we removed all 3D figurines from our showroom and so we captured the former director with our 3D scanner. Next are our 3D artists started working on designing the LEDO Group logo in 3D, so that the 3D scan of Leo could be placed on it. Once printed the statue is done Leo received it and gave it a nice spot in the office.

A statue for everyone who deserves it
This was the headline of our first newspaper article. A real milestone! Of Duplicate in the AD for the ‘Made in Westland’ section.
A 3D-worthy anniversary (July 2023)
A major project that we were able to work hard for was the 75th anniversary of Den Elzen Car damage. We were able to make a 3D image of the management Joost and Daniëlle, without them doing anything knew about! Their Volkswagen T1 is left behind their exhibited with their logo. During their anniversary party, she and all other colleagues saw the end result for the first time.
Scanning for charity (May 2023)
Ronald McDonald Children’s Fund Belgium is in contact with us included. They organized a gala, or actually a auction, where companies could auction their products and the proceeds went to charity. We have a 3D image offered. As an example we have Ronald McDonald Children’s Fund house made in 3D with a family. For the form we had made a large check, so that they would get something right away that evening
Our lot was ultimately sold for a few thousand euros for charity. The Children’s Fund has used this money a first new living room built for parents with (many) prematurely born children
May 2023
There he is, our very own laser cutter. This is used for cutting out plexiglass plates, on which the 3D figurines are placed come to be. The pictures can also be engraved, to make it extra personal.
May 2023
About a year after the construction of the photogrammetry scanner we started building the Cross- polarization scanner . This can be used for larger and reflective ones objects are used
The scanner looks like a normal photo camera, but there is a large flash lamp around the lens that produces polarized light broadcasts. There is also one on the lens of the camera itself polarizing lens that blocks the light from the flash filtered. This means that they are reflections of objects dampens, so that it does not reflect in the lens. This allows you to so you can scan shiny objects such as a camper or car
The reason for building the photogrammetry scanner was a camper. Scanning was not possible alone a DSLR camera. DBecause the car shines, it had a strong one reflection that the handheld scanner did not pick up properly. WSo we had to look for a better method, and that’s how the idea for the scanner we have now was born!
A gift horse…
The 3D scanner is designed so that it can also be moved, for example outside to scan a horse! It has only happened a few times so far, but we are looking forward to doing it more often.

THE scanner is finished!
The type of scanner we use is called a Photogrammetry scanner. There will be about a hundred photos taken in 1 second. This is a big step up from the handheld scanner. The scanner was initially built to to scan children and animals, because they have difficulty sitting still .
From plaster to work of art
The printer works with a kind of plaster (the white powder). Er a thin layer of plaster is laid down and then goes a colored binder over it. The plaster becomes hard and then the process starts again, until entire statue is constructed. When he’s done, it has to be done The statue will harden for a while, and it can be dug out. After excavation it is still very fragile and as a final step, before the work of art is completely finished, a coating of water-thin super glue is applied.
The edited images are then printed in our Sandstone printer.
Roll up your sleeves
So there it was: the handheld scanner! It started in a small way room with a single screen, but scanning was not easy as we had in mind. It took a long time to completely scan someone with a handheld scanner. Om so It is useful to capture someone in detail as much as possible to scan as close as possible. People sometimes had to go 30 stand still for minutes, this allowed animals and children to play with cannot be scanned using this method. In addition, it took a lot of time the post-processing.

Duplify: The beginning
Duplify originated from a hobby of our founder Roland. He has always had a fascination with 3D printing, and wanted to do more with this. He stood up the idea of making 3D statues of people, to give them a truly lasting memory that is completely contemporary.
Together with Suzanne, Roland made the first draft, from corporate identity to website. To make 3D figurines we need a way to scan people in 3D. We started with a handheld scanner, and then designed a 3D scanner. Of course, building such a scanner costs money some time. We were able to do this with the help of the handheld scanner Create 3D figurines that we could use as an example on the website .
